OPS CONNECT UPDATE: Searching Comments
Release Date: February 17, 2025
User’s can now utilize the main search box in the LENS platform to search all “comments” for keywords. This update allows users to search for keywords, car tags, case numbers, names, etc… that may be contained in both notifications and/or comments.
-
-
- This search is available at this time from the main LENS screen – basic search only.
- This search is keyword only – not text strings, combinations, etc..
-
- For example, if a main notification or comment contains the term “CARTOON”, and the user searches “CAR”, “TOON”, “CARTOON”, etc.. the search will return the result as expected. However, if the user searched “OLD CARTOON”, no result will be returned because that exact combination of terms or characters is not exactly in that order.
-
- This is meant to be a basic search, looking for a keyword or combination or characters (ex: “NYDEP-234”, “John Smith”, “2025-09090”, etc..).
-
Global Search (which utilizes the OPS Network’s Artificial Intelligence engine) does not currently search comments. Global Search only queries main notifications. This is a much more flexible search when searching main notifications. Global Search allows for word combinations, strings and more. Using the “CARTOON” example above in Global Search, the search term “OLD CARTOON” would return a result as the A.I. looks for any possible combination and returns the best possible results regardless of the exact format.
